Big E vs. Apollo Crews

Last week on SmackDown, Apollo Crews challenged Big E to a Nigerian Drum Fight for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 37. One problem was that clarity wasn't given surrounding the exact rules of this match.

Some reports mentioned that it might be nothing more than a hardcore or No DQ style of match. Those types of fights have many names, like street fights, or no-holds barred. It's definitely a way to incorporate the Nigerian aspects of Crews' character into a unique match at WrestleMania 37.

Big E has already faced Crews a few times and each contest raised the stakes from the previous fight. Since this is a match at WrestleMania 37, it will likely be more visually unique then simple No DQ matches.

This will also be Crews' first big singles match at WrestleMania. He has competed in a few Andre the Giant Battle Royals, but has never been showcased in a one-on-one setting. For that reason, he'll like to bring his best against Big E.

There's an adage in sports stating that "great players make great plays in big games." There isn't a stage in pro wrestling bigger than WrestleMania. For that reason, it shouldn't be a surprise if Apollo Crews and Big E attempt to steal the show at WrestleMania 37.

Along with the steel cage match between Shane McMahon and Braun Strowman, this is one of the few gimmick matches on the WrestleMania 37 card. While McMahon usually jumps from cages and high structures, the in-ring action is basic. The work between Crews and Big E could exceed the action in the steel cage.

WrestleMania is always touted as a big spectacle, and despite being similar to other hardcore matches, this contest is a first-time fight at the Show of Shows. Big E and Crews have long been exciting performers between the ropes. That will continue in the Nigerian Drum Fight at WrestleMania 37.
