After suffering from a serious neck injury, The Celtic Warrior returned to in-ring action earlier this year. Since then, Sheamus has made it clear that he wants a shot at the WWE Intercontinental Champion as it's the only title eluding him from becoming a 'Grand Slam Champion'.

When Braun Strowman won the title from Shinsuke Nakamura in January, many fans felt that they would witness The Monster Among Men against Sheamus at WrestleMania 36. After all, there are only a handful of Superstars on the Blue brand who can pose a legit threat to Strowman. With victories over the likes of Roman Reigns, Mark Henry and The Big Show, Sheamus would have been a worthy contender to take on Braun Strowman at 'The Grandest Stage of Them All'.

Even after Sami Zayn emerged as the new Intercontinental Champion following the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, Sheamus continued to tease a title match at 'The Show and Shows'.

Unfortunately for The Celtic Warrior, he has been left out of the WrestleMania 36 card while Sami Zayn defends the Intercontinental Title against Daniel Bryan on the event.
