Everytime a wrestling storyline involves a member of Wrestling's First Family, it becomes the center point of WWE programming. When Shane McMahon made his return to WWE in 2016, there were speculations that Triple H was not happy with his return, which led to the fans assuming that the two would definitely clash in the near future. Two years down the line and the only time the two have shared the ring was when The Game absorbed all the spotlight and pinned Shane at Survivor Series last November.

This could have been the perfect foil for the Wrestlemania Showdown between these two, probably with the added stake of WWE's control to increase the hype. However, it seems that WWE seems to have decided to never have them clash with each other, as Hunter is on course to a fight against Kurt Angle and Shane is also speculated to be involved in a rivalry with Daniel Bryan throughout the Wrestlemania Season.
