On the road to Hell in a Cell, Sheamus suffered a broken nose during his match with Humberto Carrillo on RAW. This injury came directly after he faced Ricochet, as The Celtic Warrior lost in both instances.

The current U.S. title scenario will likely lead to a triple threat contest, with Sheamus defending the belt against both Carrillo and Ricochet. However, this particular match happening at Hell in a Cell is contingent on Sheamus's injury status heading into the event.
