Seth Rollins faced John Cena in a Winner Takes All match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and United States Championship. It took place at the SummerSlam pay-per-view in 2015.

The following night at RAW, the Authority hosted a night of celebration for Seth Rollins becoming a double-champion. The Authority also decided to unveil a brand-new statue of "The Architect". The statue would go alongside many other WWE statues, including the late Dusty Rhodes and Roddy Piper.

The unveiling was all going to plan until the the curtain was removed and "The Icon" Sting was standing on the podium in place of the statue. This stunned The Authority and Seth Rollins. Sting began to attack Rollins and sent him crashing out of the ring.

A match between the two was then announced following the conclusion of the show, with the WWE World Heavyweight Title on the line. It would be Sting's last match in WWE, as he sustained an injury in the match which forced him to announce his retirement.
