The Royal Rumble match card is currently taking shape as there are still some matches left to be booked for the show. WWE has done many things that seem like significant changes for the company. Last week, Sasha Banks defeated Nia Jax and now will be facing the Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at the Royal Rumble.
Fans are happy to see this, but it isn’t the only thing that Raw needed to do. There are many things left that the company should do before the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. As we all know that the ratings of the show are continuously decreasing and the company will be looking forward to doing something mind-blowing for this week’s Monday Night Raw.
Let’s take a look at such 5 things that could happen on Raw.
#5 Bobby Lashley wins the Intercontinental Championship by pinning Seth Rollins
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Last week, Bobby Lashley and Seth Rollins got into a brawl that started before Monday Night Raw went live. Then, the entire locker room came to separate these two wrestlers.
However, this didn’t end here, and at the main event of the show, Lashley once again attacked Seth Rollins to help Dean Ambrose defeat him in the Fall Count Anywhere match. Now the WWE has booked a Triple Threat match between these three superstars, and now they will be facing each other for the Intercontinental Championship this week.
Now, I’m guessing that a title change could happen this time on Raw. If Rollins is going to win this year’s Royal Rumble match, then he will not win this title back, but Lashley could. After all, his run so far on the main roster isn’t that big and now he needs to win a title to get his career back on track.
And, he could do so by pinning Seth Rollins on Raw. He can then attack Rollins with a Steel Chair as it will help him get more heat from the fans.
#4 Lesnar destroys Strowman
Last week, Brock Lesnar returned to Monday Night Raw, and everyone expected that there would be a brawl between him and Strowman. However, this didn’t happen. Lesnar did return to Raw, but instead of getting into a brawl, he refused to get into the ring to come face to face with Braun Strowman.
Maybe the WWE is trying to get Lesnar some heat from the fans, and it seems like their idea is working fine. However, the WWE may surprise us by having Lesnar and Strowman in a brawl that would end with The Beast destroying Strowman.
This could be done to make Lesnar look like a heel and to give Strowman sympathy from the fans. They have already done this a lot of times, and there’s a chance for this to happen again. Let’s see if Lesnar is going to be on the next episode of Monday Night Raw or not.
#3 The Revival finally becomes the new Raw Tag Team Champions
Last week on Raw, The Revival lost their match against Bobby Roode and Chad Gable in a controversial way. It was a lumberjack match and during its ending Gable tried to pin The Revival. However, Scott Dawson’s foot was on the rope, but the referee didn’t notice it and declared Gable and Roode as the winners.
The WWE already booked them in controversial matches, but this week, it could change. Maybe The Revival will win the Raw Tag Team Championships this week. However, there’s no match booked for this title but it could be done during the show.
The Revival has the potential to become the top tag team of Monday Night Raw and the WWE just needs to give them an opportunity to do so. The fans also like this tag team, and it’s a shame that they are not the champions in the company.
#2 EC3 debuts on Monday Night Raw
A few weeks ago, the WWE announced several NXT call-ups to the main roster. This includes Lars Sullivan, EC3, Nikki Cross and Lacey Evans and the tag team of Heavy Machinery.
According to a report, Sullivan was set to be on Raw and Smackdown last week but, he didn’t show up to either show. Now it seems like that he might get released by the company if this rumor is true.
He was also rumored to be John Cena’s Wrestlemania opponent, but now the company might have to change their plans. If that's true, I am assuming that EC3 could become Cena’s new opponent for Mania as he already had challenged him in the past. It will also be great for him if he battles Cena at the Shows of the Immortals.
However, nothing is confirmed at this point and this is just my prediction that I think could come true. Only time will tell if anything like this will actually happen or not.
#1 Sasha Banks turns on Ronda Rousey
Last week, we saw the debut of the “Moment of Bliss” talk show, and the inaugural guest was the current Raw Women's Champion, Ronda Rousey.
The WWE announced a change in the new era a few weeks ago, and it seems like they are keeping their promise as Sasha Banks got an opportunity to face Rousey at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. She defeated Nia Jax at the show to become the number 1 contender for the championship.
Now the WWE has booked Sasha Banks and Ronda Rousey in a tag team match against Nia Jax and Tamina, and it seems like that a heel turn is on its way. As we all know, both Banks and Rousey are babyfaces, and this is why their rivalry needs a turn to become interesting.
So the WWE could turn any of these superstars into a heel so that the fans could get excited about the match. At the moment, Ronda’s heel turn is unlikely to happen, and it seems like Banks is going to turn heel in this rivalry.
The WWE often books face wrestlers in a match together only to turn a superstar into a heel. They did the same with AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan’s rivalry, and this could happen with this rivalry as well.
