Lacey Evans announced that she was pregnant a week ago on WWE Monday Night RAW. This meant that her scheduled match against RAW Women's Champion Asuka would need to be scrapped.
Instead of announcing a replacement for Lacey Evans earlier in the week, WWE continued to advertise the match, before finally pulling the plug just a few hours before Elimination Chamber. This then led to a discussion on the kickoff show where Charly Caruso, Booker T, and JBL all talked about an open challenge and who Asuka would face instead of Evans.
Despite this, there was no RAW Women's Championship match on the card and there was no announcement regarding the match either. There wasn't even a backstage segment to inform the WWE Universe that the match had been scrapped. WWE just decided to completely brush over the fact that the match wasn't happening, which left many fans watching Elimination Chamber confused.
