#2. WWE Mistake: Hell in a Cell 2019

Hell in a Cell 2019 was a solid pay-per-view from WWE until it reached the main event. Whilst there are several fans who still act as though this never happened, there are others who question what WWE was actually trying to do with The Fiend character.

The obvious answer here is that WWE had booked themselves into a corner. Seth Rollins had become a huge star at that time and stepping inside Hell in a Cell with The Fiend meant that he would probably have to lose the Universal Championship.

Rollins didn't lose the title. Instead, the match ended when the referee called for the bell because The Fiend was no longer defending himself, since Rollins went on to use a sledgehammer on his opponent. Whilst it is something that is seen in wrestling very often and a way to ensure real injuries didn't happen, many fans felt as though they were short-changed.

The Fiend later went on to defeat Rollins in Saudi Arabia to win the title, which he could have easily done at Hell in a Cell before a rematch was then booked in The Middle East. So why did WWE need to create controversy over their own match?
