At WrestleMania 19, Brock Lesnar defeated Kurt Angle in the main event of the night, to win his 2nd WWE title. Lesnar and Angle went on to become best friends but the friendship didn't last long. Brock turned on Angle on an episode of SmackDown and turned heel in the process. At SummerSlam 2003, the two athletes met again for the WWE title. The roles from WrestleMania 19 were reversed here, with Angle now being the fan-favorite babyface, and Lesnar donning the persona of the dastardly heel.

The classic encounter saw the two Superstars go to great lengths to try and bag the title, with Vince McMahon desperately trying to help Lesnar win the match. Unfortunately for the villains, Angle succeeded in overcoming the odds and making Lesnar tap out to keep the title on his waist. This bout was just one of several instances that proved that Lesnar and Angle were able to create magic whenever they met inside the squared circle.

He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
