At SummerSlam 2017, Lesnar faced possibly the biggest challenge of his career, as he faced three Superstars in a Fatal Four-Way match for his Universal title. Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, and Braun Strowman were all looking forward to winning the title, and the odds were heavily stacked against The Beast.

During the match, Strowman hit Lesnar with a running powerslam on the announce table. A second running powerslam on Lesnar was followed by Strowman overturning a table on him. This prompted medical personnel to arrive and take an unconscious Lesnar away.
Somehow, he came back and went on to hit Roman Reigns with an F5 in the closing moments of the match, successfully retaining his Universal title. With three dominant heavyweights looking to dethrone him, Lesnar had little chance of leaving the building with the belt on his waist, but he ended up doing just that.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
