Dolph Ziggler made his WWE re-debut in 2008, just under 2 years before Shawn Michaels retired.

And while today he is a former 2 time World Champion and multi-time Intercontinental, United States and Tag Team Champion, by the time Shawn had retired Dolph was no where near Shawn's level in the ring, so wasn't close to being booked in a match with him. Shawn also became semi-retired in 2008, limiting Ziggler's chances for a match with him even more.

While there is no direct link to set up a feud between the two today, it would be a major shame to let it slip by with Dolph Ziggler being one of the absolute best performers in the world today and modern day showstopper in his own right. Especially when it seems that Shawn may be open to wrestling a few more matches following Crown Jewel.
