Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano's feud in NXT was one of the best things going on in professional wrestling this year.

Their feud started after Ciampa turned on Gargano in 2017, after NXT TakeOver: Chicago when Ciampa turned on his DIY partner. They ended up giving us the most brutal WWE matches of 2018 during their feud.
Ciampa and Gargano met thrice this year and all three matches were brutal, with the two men proving that they were as adept at telling a story through wrestling and violence as anyone in WWE history.
They first met at NXT TakeOver: Chicago in a Chicago Street Fight which was won by Ciampa.
This was followed by an Unsanctioned Match at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans which was won by Gargano. Their last match this year was for the NXT Championship in a Last Man Standing match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4.
Ciampa won this match despite taking an ungodly beating after Gargano injured his ankle and was unable to stand.
