When it comes to rating the Superstars the views are subjective. There will be contrasting opinions regarding every single one of them. While many might consider Seth Rollins as the best wrestler in WWE right now, others may not give him the same credit due to one reason or the other.
Similarly, there are several Superstars who have a wide fan base but they either have really struggled to have a good showing in WWE or simply aren't as good as their fans claim them to be. Most of these wrestlers have enjoyed a fair amount of success in WWE but their shortcomings have surfaced as time passed by.
#5 Dean Ambrose
Check out which wrestler EC3 finds cute RIGHT HERE
Dean Ambrose has enjoyed great success as a singles Superstar since the Shield broke up. However, his shortcomings were quickly exposed the more he performed on his own. Despite the hate, Roman Reigns has still improved massively both on the mic and in the ring.
Ambrose, arguably the best out of the Shield on the mic, has struggled to put forward great matches. The Lunatic Fringe's in-ring ability has always been on the radar of criticism. Ambrose thrives in matches with stipulations like his Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins in 2014. However, when it comes to a normal singles match, Ambrose's shady work has been exposed time and time again.
While it comes to his character, the Lunatic Fringe has always been interesting when he chases for the title. However, on winning it, he has failed to offer anything new as shown in his run as the WWE World Champion in 2016.
Thus, Ambrose does not bring much to the table except his mic work. As of now, Ambrose is on his way out of the company when his contract expires in April 2019.
#4 Finn Balor
Finn Balor has had a fantastic start to 2019 as of now. From producing a stellar performance against Brock Lesnar to his match against Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush at the Elimination Chamber PPV, things look bright for the inaugural Universal Champion. While it seems that Balor is probably going to win the Intercontinental champion sooner than later, Balor has drawn criticism over his lack of credibility to topple big wrestlers.
At 5'11" and 190 pounds, Balor isn't any big as compared to other wrestlers on the 205 Live. However, size isn't the only problem when it comes to the Irish Young Gun. Balor's one-dimensional offense is one of the low points of his matches. While that could be attributed to his moveset being limited since joining the main roster, the lack of high impact moves in his arsenal surely takes a lot away from his matches.
Finn Balor also has struggled to have any sort of character apart from his Demon King form. His mic skills too leave a lot to be desired. Balor needs to work on his character so that the company can see him as a complete package.
#3 Elias
It cannot be denied that Elias can fetch a reaction from any crowd in the world. The Drifter has been one of the most interesting commodity when it comes to his work on the mic. Elias can work the crowd magnificently well both as a heel and as a face. However, his best work has come as a heel.
Regardless of how good Elias is, his inability to carry the brilliance from mic to the ring is a point that cannot be ignored. A similar tale was observed in the cases of Damien Sandow and Enzo, whose in-ring talents left a lot to be desired. Maybe that could be one of the reasons why Elias hasn't won any championships on the main roster till now.
A positive for Elias is that his push hasn't been rushed till now and there is still ample time left for him to improve in the ring.
#2 Becky Lynch
At this time, it has probably become a new trend to hate on popular stars. However, this isn't a typical post to put down her abilities. She isn't really overrated but she should not be pushed into someone else's footsteps. Becky Lynch surely is incredibly over with the fans right now and that is not an easy task to accomplish. She can make a mark for herself and create unique legacy. If the pundits and the fans are comparing her to the legendary Stone Cold Steve Austin, there must be something extremely special about her.
However, most of the Lass Kicker's work on the mic seems too forced. No matter how hard they will try, Lynch will always win the support of the crowd. Lynch tries too hard to be the anti hero but there doesn't seem much authenticity in her promos. When it comes solely to her in-ring skills, they too aren't really the very best. Lynch was the least pushed among the four horsewomen of NXT.
Becky Lynch deserves to be the megastar that WWE intends her to be. However, they need to push her as The Man rather than as the female Steve Austin.
#1 Shinsuke Nakamura
When Shinsuke Nakamura made his debut on the main roster after Wrestlemania 33, nobody could have imagined Nakamura would be involved in a tag team with Rusev. The enthralling reception of the crowd to his debut and his heroics in the NXT almost assured people that he was destined for enormous success on the main roster.
However, as things turned out to be, the transition from NXT to the main roster was horrible for Nakamura. For the first time, the creatives could not be blamed for Nakamura's poor run on the main roster. Sure, his loss to Jinder Mahal one two consecutive PPVs were disappointing but Nakamura has failed to lit up the ring with his performances in the ring.
Nakamura hasn't had one memorable match since joining the main roster. This is highly disappointing since he wrestled AJ Styles for more than 20 minutes at the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania. Although the heel turn was indeed one of the best things to happen to the King of Strong Style, his continuous subpar matches have been a big let down.
