For everyone who watched SmackDown last week, Rowan's actions came across as a major surprise. The former Tag Team Champion not only attacked Roman Reigns but went on to beat down his former Tag Team partner and 'intellectual peer' Daniel Bryan as well.

Backstage reports had suggested that Bryan would be the one revealed to be behind the recent backstage attacks on The Big Dog. However, WWE decided to swerve the audience and instead made clear that Rowan acted alone in his attacks on Reigns.

Bray Wyatt, who was the leader of the Wyatt Family of which Erick Rowan was a part of during their early days in WWE Tweeted something interesting soon after SmackDown's events:
Wyatt is the master of cryptic messages, and this Tweet could certainly be construed as the former WWE Champion wanting his former associate to rejoin him.
It would be interesting if it was to be revealed that Rowan's actions were, in fact, executed at Wyatt's behest.
