#1 Former WWE RAW Women's Champion Asuka & Former NXT Women's Champion Io Shirai

Could RAW Superstar Asuka and current NXT Superstar Io Shirai be set to become a tag team on the main roster?

Former WWE RAW Women's Champion Asuka and former WWE NXT Women's Champion Io Shirai are considered to be two of the greatest female wrestlers currently on the planet today.

In the past twelve months, Asuka has reigned supreme on Monday Night RAW and Shirai has dominated NXT.

But recently, both Asuka and Io Shirai have lost their coveted Women's Championships on their respective brands. Asuka dropped the RAW Women's Championship to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 37 Night Two. Meanwhile, Io Shirai lost her title to Raquel Gonzalez in the main event of NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver Night One.

Since her defeat at the hands of Gonzalez, Shirai has barely been seen on NXT television. As a result, many fans have speculated that "The Genius Of The Sky" could be moving to the WWE main roster soon.

Meanwhile, Asuka looks like she has been removed from the WWE RAW Women's Championship picture after she lost to Charlotte Flair last week on RAW.

Perhaps WWE could pair Shirai and Asuka together as a tag team on the main roster in order to reinvigorate their respective careers. As two of the best in-ring performers in the world, Shirai and Asuka would serve as a tremendous tag team that could put on fantastic matches with anyone on the roster.

The WWE Universe could enjoy seeing Asuka and Shirai team up on the main roster and challenge for Natalya and Tamina's WWE Women's Tag Team Championships at some point.
