#2 The PPV will be a dual-branded event for the first time

The WWE Clash of Champions PPV was resurrected back in 2016, with the event replacing the usual, annual Night of Champions PPV.
When the Clash of Champions PPV debuted in WWE, it was a Raw brand only PPV, featuring bouts consisting of only Raw roster members.
In 2017, the PPV was made a SmackDown brand only PPV, featuring the stars of the blue brand.
Last year, the PPV did not take place, as the WWE Super ShowDown PPV in Australia replaced Clash of Champions.
This year, with the stars of Raw and SmackDown Live set to defend their brand titles at Clash of Champions, it will be the first time in WWE history that the event is a dual-branded Clash PPV.
WWE is rumored to be holding a roster draft in October to coincide with SmackDown's move to FOX Sports, and with the Wildcard Rule ending soon it remains to be seen whether or not WWE returns to the brand-only PPV concept. With NXT making the move to USA Network next week, it will also be interesting to see if any NXT bouts are booked on main roster PPV events.
