Adam Cole did a magnificent job at defending his NXT Championship against Tommaso Ciampa. Even though he received help from outside, he gave an impressive performance at NXT TakeOver: Portland.

Balor defeated Gargano during the event and said something to him after the match that seemed to have changed him. It was Gargano's actions which made the biggest difference during the NXT Championship match where he betrayed Ciampa. Now that it seems like Ciampa will move away from the title picture to go after Gargano, it could have been Balor’s way of clearing the field for himself.
Cole defeated The Prince to defend his title last year, but a full-on rivalry between the two leading men could be a great touch to NXT’s thriving Championship scene.
Balor does not need a reason to attack Adam Cole and The Undisputed Era soon, and he could take out Cole to make the rivalry much more personal.
If Balor does go after Cole soon, we could even watch WWE take their rivalry to WrestleMania 36, as both Superstars are huge draws and Balor deserves a big stage to become the NXT Champion once again.
