Kurt Angle was the General Manager of WWE RAW in 2018 when a disgruntled Ronda Rousey put Stephanie McMahon in an armbar.
McMahon blamed Angle because WWE RAW was in disarray and forced him to take a vacation. She then appointed Baron Corbin as the interim General Manager of WWE's flagship brand. Corbin quickly started a reign of terror on the red brand.
A month later, WWE hosted a 10-man Battle Royal for a spot in the WWE World Cup at Crown Jewel. Corbin seemingly eliminated all the other competitors when a luchador, clad in a golden spandex suit like The Conquistadors of old, slid into the ring.
There were no prizes for guessing who was under the mask as El Conquistador hit Corbin with an Angle Slam and threw him over the rope.
Afterward, Kurt Angle took off his mask and celebrated in front of the jubilant WWE Universe. Interestingly, this was Kurt Angle's first win on WWE television after more than a decade.
