Bank in 2017, WWE had to make last-minute changes to the TLC PPV card, after Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt were deemed unable to compete due to medical issues. This resulted in the WWE Universe getting a dream match in AJ Styles vs Finn Balor. Additionally, WWE announced that Hall of Famer Kurt Angle would be replacing Reigns to join his Shield brethren in the main event of the show.

Angle came out in full Shield gear alongside Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, in what later became a hilarious meme, thanks to Angle's awkward mannerisms during the entrance. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback.
