Lesnar went Extreme after making his comeback against John Cena

This was Lesnar's first feud after returning to the WWE. Extreme Rules pay-per-view has at least one match which gets brutal. At Extreme Rules 2012, Lesnar and Cena went at each other's throats as soon as the match started. Lesnar busted Cena open early on in the match, and Cena wrestled with a bloodied face throughout the match.

Although Cena won the match, Lesnar was able to cement his place as The Beast Incarnate after the match. He had returned from the UFC, and the WWE wanted him to look strong by beating the holy hell out of their top star.

This match was loved by the fans of the Non-PG era. The match was dominated throughout by Lesnar, and Lesnar winning would have made more sense, but ultimately Cena won - making Lesnar's return to the WWE a memorable one.
