Fake Diesel was a demotion for Jacobs

Arguably, somehow Jacobs ended up worse off soon after. After Kevin Nash and Scott Hall memorably took off for WCW, changing the face of wrestling in the process, the WWE did not respond in the smartest way possible.

Jim Ross announced that Diesel and Razor Ramon, the characters played by Nash and Hall, were returning. Big Daddy Cool and The Bad Guy may have indeed returned…but they weren't Nash and Hall.

They were instead Rick Bognar as Razor and, yes, Jacobs as the fake Diesel. This should have died on the vine, but Jacobs was still stuck as the fake Diesel from September 1996 until April of 1997. Then he would get repackaged one final time as The Undertakers long-lost brother, and his career would skyrocket.
