In the back story, Vince McMahon set down the law that Ric Flair’s career was over, and the next match that he lost would mean his career was over. Ric Flair wanted a WrestleMania match with Mr. WrestleMania himself, Shawn Michaels. But initially Shawn declined saying that he didn’t want to be the one that ended Flair’s career.
