The last time anyone saw John Cena in WWE was when he was facing The Fiend at WrestleMania 36 inside the Firefly Fun House. The match was one of the most unexpected of the night, as The Fiend showcased Cena’s entire career, giving a play-by-play from some of the most important moments in his wrestling life.

However, when the match was over, The Fiend had defeated John Cena and it seemed that he was vanquished once and for all.

Now, The Fiend has been absent from WWE for a long time, ever since Alexa Bliss turned on him. John Cena’s return to WWE could also trigger the return of The Fiend, and the two wrestlers, who have immense chemistry, could easily have one of the best feuds currently possible in WWE.

While WWE would have to write the story in a way where Cena’s return was explained if he faced The Fiend, it would make for some amazing storytelling and would attract the attention of the fans. Whether WWE goes for a repeat or not remains to be seen.
