Revenge is a dish best served cold and one wonders how Gerald Brisco felt when he finally earned a measure of revenge on his long-time buddy, Pat Patterson on the July 22, 2019, episode of Raw, entitled Raw Reunion.

Patterson had earlier in the night attacked then 24/7 Champion Drake Maverick to win the title but came unstuck when he encountered his friend Brisco backstage.

Cameras did not witness the title change, but a visibly shocked Patterson called his buddy a "stooge" as Brisco celebrated the title win, which evoked memories of the pair trading the Hardcore Championship 19 years earlier in the summer of 2000.

Brisco had won the title from Patterson and during the title celebration, he poured champagne into his friend's eyes and then smashed him with the bottle to steal the belt.

Nearly a full two decades later, Brisco exacted the perfect revenge, even if his title reign was short-lived as he dropped it to Kelly Kelly moments later.

Still, a title win at 72 years of age is an impressive feat.
