One of the most surprising moments at Clash of Champions saw Dolph Ziggler, a regular loser over the last 12 months, win the United States title from Baron Corbin.
“The Lone Wolf” looked set to retain his championship with an End of Days on Bobby Roode in the Triple Threat match, only for Dolph to hit him with a Zig Zag to win his second US title.
During a ‘Championship Celebration’ on SmackDown Live, a disgruntled "Show Off” listed his career achievements before placing his title down in the middle of the ring to give fans “something to remember him by”. He then walked to the back without his new championship.
If that’s the last we’ve seen of Ziggler in a WWE ring – one suspects he’ll be back soon enough – then it was certainly a unique way to go out!
