Speaking of first-time-ever matches in WWE, Seth Rollins can fit that caliber as a potential opponent for Edge at SummerSlam. There also happens to be some history between these two superstars.

In late 2014, Rollins almost prevented Edge from making an in-ring return to WWE by attempting to stomp Edge's head in the middle of the ring.

Seven years later, Edge eventually settled the score by eliminating Rollins at the Royal Rumble, thus preventing him from challenging the world champion at WrestleMania. Edge and Rollins was a match the WWE once fantasized about back in 2015.

If Edge makes his return to SmackDown this summer, a perfect return match for him would be a one-on-one bout against the Messiah at SummerSlam.

A program between Edge and Rollins could either have a fresh start or a continuation from when Rollins almost put an official end to Edge's wrestling career.
