5 opponents for The Undertaker after the Greatest Royal Rumble

Could this dream match someday become a reality?
Could this dream match become a reality down the line?

He symbolically left his coat, hat and gloves in the middle of the ring when he lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania last year. He broke character and kissed his wife, who was standing at ringside. Every sign pointed to the fact that it may have been The Undertaker's last match. He returned a year later to face John Cena once again.

And then, The Undertaker would wrestle for the second time in a month. He took on Rusev in a Casket match, to the delight of the audience in Saudi Arabia. The icon looked better than ever as he made both Rusev and Aiden English rest in peace after a pretty competitive match.

We have reason to believe that The Undertaker may wrestle yet again in 2018? Whom could he face at Money in the Bank, SummerSlam or even at the pay-per-view where he made his debut, Survivor Series?

We pick 5 potential contenders for the legendary WWE superstar.

Honorary mention: Sting

This is one match audiences will throng to see
This is one match audiences will throng to see

Some may say that this is a match that should have happened many years ago. Whether it was Sting's reluctance to come to WWE, or Triple H's insistence on being booked with Sting before The Undertaker could, this dream match never came to be. An injury occurred and the match between The Undertaker and Sting never came to pass.

Daniel Bryan has proved recently that injuries need not keep one on the shelf forever. If Sting is cleared (and he has claimed that he can still wrestle), he would be the ideal opponent for The Undertaker. No other match in this list would have the kind of hype this match would.

But until Sting is cleared, this remains a fantasy match-up only. Therefore, let's move on with the rest of our list.

#5 SAnitY (as Brothers of Destruction)

What better way to make SAnitY overnight superstars?
What better way to make SAnitY overnight superstars?

SAnitY and The Brothers of Destruction have much in common. Neither is opposed to tapping into the dark side and unleashing the forces of evil. We recently saw this band of oddities get called up from NXT to SmackDown Live. They would need a huge program to be part of the mix instantly.

Who better than The Undertaker and Kane to give these three men the rub? SAnitY could call out The Brothers of Destruction, only to have them oblige! Win or lose, it would be a big step up for Dain, Young and Wolfe.

It would also be an exciting opportunity for fans to see The Brothers of Destruction reunited. If booked right, this could be a very, very interesting feud indeed.

#4 Finn Balor

Yet another supernatural themed program!
Yet another supernatural-themed program!

While we haven't seen this avatar of Balor in forever, do not forget that he can tap into his dark side and transform into The Demon King as and when required. While Balor got an immense push at the very beginning of his career, his momentum seems to have fizzled out since.

A feud with The Undertaker may be just what the doctor ordered for Finn Balor. It would catapult him right into the spotlight and establish him as a top superstar. If Balor were to defeat The Undertaker, the possibilities would be unlimited.

Even if he were to lose, a properly etched out program could benefit Balor immensely. The Undertaker works better with smaller men and Balor is a fantastic worker to boot.

#3 Goldberg

This could be the ultimate WCW vs. WWE match!
This could be the ultimate fantasy match

During his recent WWE run, Goldberg was extremely vocal about wanting to face The Undertaker. Goldberg and The Undertaker were two generals on two sides of the Monday Night Wars. Much like Sting, this match may be happening far too late. However, it could still be a draw.

Imagine if Goldberg were to return around SummerSlam to say that he had only one thing left to accomplish. He wanted to squash The Undertaker like a bug. And closer to SummerSlam, The Undertaker heeded his call.

With the right amount of smoke and mirrors, WWE could tell a very interesting story through this match. The match wouldn't be a classic. Thankfully, it doesn't necessarily need to be one.

#2 Samoa Joe

Now this would be a real slug fest
Now, this would be a real slugfest, wouldn't it?

Samoa Joe may be monstrous but he's also super nimble on his feet for a man his size. We know that he's feuding with Roman Reigns until Backlash. Where does he go once the men are separated, you ask? Why not the lair of the Dead Man?

Not only will it elevate Joe, it will also bring eyeballs to SmackDown Live going forward. The two men could square off at SummerSlam in a marquee match. Knowing how good both men are, we do not doubt that it will deliver.

This could be a battle of the Coquina Clutch vs. Hell's Gate. A war between The Last Ride and the Ura Nage.

#1 Roman Reigns

There's unfinished business between the men
There's unfinished business between the men

The Undertaker and Roman Reigns are two men that still have a score to settle. The Undertaker cannot be happy about losing at WrestleMania. Reigns cannot be happy about the negative reaction he received the night after. The components are in place for a new program.

We have a feeling that this match may be better than the last. The Undertaker is moving much better now and he seems to be much more agile than he was then. Reigns is wrestling better than ever.

Could Chapter 2 of the feud eclipse the first? In our opinion, the answer is a resounding yes!

Let us know whom you'd want The Undertaker to face going forward!
