It has been perplexing to see Roman Reigns portrayed as an apparent hero despite a significant lack of love from the fans.

Story-wise, the smart thing to do would have been to turn him heel years ago. Alas, bad guys don't sell as many t-shirts.

If he wins the Universal Title at Summerslam, Reigns has an incredible opportunity to cement himself as a memorable heel champion.

Let's face it, he's already hated. So why not have the people hate him with good reason?

It worked for The Rock. Some would argue it even saved his career. It could (and should) do the same for Reigns.
