#4 Shane McMahon vs Braun Strowman - WWE WrestleMania 37 (Cinematic match)
Cinematic matches were a staple of WWE programming in 2020. Due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, WWE was forced to be more creative in how they told stories in wrestling matches without paid fans in attendance for their shows.
This was especially prominent during last year's WrestleMania 36 event. The first WrestleMania show to be across two days, both nights of WrestleMania 36 featured cinematic matches.
Will John Cena beat Ric Flair's record? A former WCW Champion thinks so HERE
Night 1 of WrestleMania 36 saw the critically acclaimed Boneyard Match between The Undertaker and AJ Styles. Whereas Night 2 of WrestleMania 36 saw The FireFly Fun House match between John Cena and Bray Wyatt. Both matches were huge hits with fans watching at home around the world and seen as real creative "victories" for WWE during a difficult period in the early days of the pandemic.
1 year later and the world is still coming to grips with what the "new normal" is going to be post-pandemic. WrestleMania 37 will see the return of live fans to a WWE event for the first time in over 365 days. Despite this, Raymond James Stadium won't be full. WWE will still be implementing social distancing policies and practices to keep fans, and performers, at the stadium safe.
Therefore, it is possible that WWE could continue the new tradition of creating cinematic presentations for The Showcase of the Immortals. Perhaps Shane McMahon and Braun Strowman could be a fun and interesting story to present in a cinematic fashion.
Braun Strowman previously competed in the Wyatt Swamp Fight at Extreme Rules 2020, which was filmed cinematically. Is Shane McMahon and Braun Strowman set to be WWE's next cinematic presentation?
