Cody Rhodes kicked off this week's edition of WWE SmackDown but was quickly interrupted by Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline. The American Nightmare defeated Kevin Owens this past Saturday night at Bash in Berlin to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Sikoa stated that he wanted a shot at the title, but Cody Rhodes suggested he battle Jacob Fatu instead. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis then showed up and announced that Cody Rhodes would be defending the title against Solo Sikoa in a Steel Cage match next Friday night on the blue brand's premiere on the USA Network.

Listed below are five possible outcomes of the Steel Cage match between Rhodes and Sikoa next week on WWE SmackDown.

#5. Solo Sikoa could capture the Undisputed WWE Championship next week on SmackDown

Solo Sikoa has relied on The Bloodline for success, but he may not have that option next week in the Steel Cage match. Rhodes also appeared to overlook Sikoa tonight by suggesting Jacob Fatu deserved the title match instead.

Sikoa may have taken that personally and could be determined to win the match on his own next Friday night. The 31-year-old could potentially pull off a major upset next week by dethroning Cody Rhodes, and it would also legitimize him as the new Tribal Chief of The Bloodline.

#4. Cody Rhodes could get the better of Solo Sikoa once again

Cody Rhodes has been involved in a rivalry with the new Bloodline for months on WWE SmackDown. He got the better of Solo Sikoa last month at SummerSlam after Roman Reigns made his surprising return.

Rhodes will be locked inside a steel cage with Sikoa next week on SmackDown. He could defeat the leader of The Bloodline once again, and turn his attention to another opponent following the title match. Sikoa would likely not be given another title match for a while if he came up short against Rhodes for a second time.

#3. Jacob Fatu could betray Solo Sikoa

Jacob Fatu has already acknowledged Solo Sikoa as his Tribal Chief, but his loyalty could be tested following Cody Rhodes' remarks tonight on SmackDown. The former AEW star suggested he defend the title against Jacob Fatu over Solo Sikoa, which could cause him to become jealous of the leader of The Bloodline.

Fatu could decide to step out of Solo Sikoa's shadow next week and betray the leader of The Bloodline. The former MLW star has made quite an impact on SmackDown since his debut earlier this year and could be ready to become a singles star.

#2. Roman Reigns could return to cost Solo Sikoa

Roman Reigns spent several months on hiatus before returning last month at WWE SummerSlam to cost Solo Sikoa his title opportunity against Cody Rhodes. However, The Bloodline got revenge on the August 16 edition of WWE SmackDown and slammed Reigns through the announce table. The Head of the Table has not returned to WWE television since, but is rumored to be appearing on next week's show.

Reigns could show up during the Steel Cage match next week and attack Solo Sikoa once again. The 39-year-old is likely out for revenge after The Bloodline's attack last month, and costing Sikoa the title again would be a great way to get back at his former faction.

#1. Both stars could escape the Steel Cage at the same time

The rivalry between Solo Sikoa and Cody Rhodes has gotten quite personal, and could possibly continue following next week's Steel Cage match. The two stars may potentially escape the cage at the exact same time, forcing a third match in the rivalry.

If the controversial finish were to take place, Sikoa would have a legitimate reason to demand another shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis may then decide to have Rhodes and Sikoa battle each other again at WWE Bad Blood next month in Atlanta, Georgia.
