One of the most refreshing and entertaining storylines that the WWE is currently going with is Eva Marie’s inability to wrestle her first match on the blue brand. Ever since she has been drafted to SmackDown Live, she has ben scheduled to face Becky Lynch for two weeks running.
And every time Eva Marie has come up with some excuse to not wrestle her match and the plot line seems to be working in her favour as time passes.
Eva Marie’s wrestling inability is widely known and it has garnered considerable heat towards the diva in the past. Though she has considerably improved her wrestling abilities in recent times, one has to agree that she is not anywhere near to the ability of the other performers on the WWE roster.
Top name doesn't want to enter the WWE Hall of Fame. More details HERE.
It looks like WWE has understood this and is giving Eva an interesting story to roll with to keep the anticipation building.
All things aside, let us look at five possible reasons Eva can pull up this week to postpone her debut. Though there are numerous hilarious reasons for Eva to come up with so that she doesn’t wrestle, we have selected few logical reasons that would have the legitimacy to ruin Eva’s debut match once again.
#5 An entrance miscue
Though many would consider this a hilarious reason for Eva to come up with, knowing her character, this excuse would not sound uncharacteristic at all. Eva is all about glitz and glam.
Nothing would shatter her focus on a match like an entrance miscue that ruins her walk on the ramp. Oh, and we all know how much she likes to model.
The voiceover that airs during her entrance may have a glitch, the focus lights could go through a problem, or even the pyros could misfire. What wouldn’t we give to watch Eva fight through a misfired pyro and emerge, dishevelled, on the ramp?
Surely that would be a cause to postpone her debut. After all, she is Eva Marie!
#4 A family emergency
Compared to the last reason, this reason is more believable. Just when she is about to wrestle her match, she could receive a message containing a family emergency and a devastated Eva would surely not be in a position to wrestle her match.
WWE could actually pull this off without hurting Eva and this makes it more legitimate. Surely, a devastated Eva can’t wrestle a match with the weight of the family issue on her shoulders. That would be too much for us to ask of her too.
Total Divas! to the rescue!
#3 Altercation before entering the ring
One other reason WWE could come up with is to stage an altercation before Eva enters the ring. We have seen countless matches get postponed due to this reason and this would be more believable than all the other reason in this list.
What we wouldn’t give for an angry, infuriated and frustrated Becky Lynch to rip into Eva before she makes her way to the ring?
To be honest, WWE doesn’t even need to make this an altercation between Superstars.
Given Eva’s relationship with the fans, WWE could very well create a fan altercation and get away with it. God knows she has infuriated the majority of the fans one time or the other. If WWE really wants to infuriate fans further, then they can even leave out the physical part of the altercation and it would still sit well with Eva’s character.
#2 She trips on her robe and falls face first during her entrance
The #2 reason for her to come up with will be absolutely hilarious and it would mingle with the other two reasons she has cited earlier to avoid her match with Becky Lynch. Remember that ridiculously long robe Eva wears when she make her way across the ramp? I know you do.
Now, imagine her tripping over it and falling face first on the ramp as she makes her entrance.
What would be even sweet is for the fall to aggravate the hamstring injury Eva bravely recovered from two weeks ago. This could very well be the reason for the postpone the match.
Surely, no WWE fan would want Eva to wrestle with an injury and damage those beautiful legs of her, would they?
#1 An upset stomach
Don’t be shocked! This is as good as any other reason that has been put up on this list. To all those fingers wagging at me angrily for citing this, let me remind you that WWE has already used this reason and The Big Show has been the victim of such a grievous inconvenience.
When WWE can make The Big Show pull off this one, it would be no surprise if Eva pulls off this one as well. Deal with it.
Whatever may be the reason behind WWE’s current approach in getting Eva relevant in the extremely talented women’s division, one has to accept that they are doing it passably well.
And if done right, we could even anticipate her debut as much we anticipated Finn Balor’s.
Can WWE pull off this one without putting us to sleep? Only time will tell.
Until then, let's #PrayForEva.
