#4 Apollo Crews vs MVP (WWE United States Championship)
Could SummerSlam be the setting to finally provide clarity as to who is the real WWE United States Champion?
Several weeks ago on Monday Night Raw, during a V.I.P Lounge hosted by MVP, WWE United States Champion Apollo Crews would once again reject MVP's offer of managing Crews' career. This led to a vicious attack by MVP's associate Bobby Lashley, locking Apollo Crews in the brutal full nelson.
Since this attack by Lashley, Apollo Crews has been and has not competed. This led to MVP introducing a new WWE United States Championship, the first redesign of the title in 13 years, and self appointing himself as the new WWE United States Champion.
This feud between MVP and Apollo Crews was scheduled to be resolved in a WWE United States Championship match at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules. However, Apollo Crews was not medically cleared to compete at Extreme Rules after not passing the pre-match physical.
MVP went on declare himself the winner by forfeit and the new official WWE United States Champion. Despite WWE not recognising MVP as the US Champion, he continues to tell the world that he is the "real" United States Champion as we head into SummerSlam.
With Apollo Crews likely to be cleared to compete by SummerSlam on August 23, could finally get the United States Championship match between Apollo Crews and MVP? SummerSlam could finally settle who is the real United States Champion once and for all.
