After the heroics of Seth Rollins throughout last year, WWE is all set to welcome a new Money in the Bank winner. This year's pay-per-view will take place at the Nationwide Arena in Ohio on June 14 and just like all its previous editions, the show is sure to change the destiny of the chosen superstar.
The creative team had a lot of success with Seth's run as Mr. Money in the bank last time around and they will be looking to pull off a similar reign this time around. Although we still have an Elimination Chamber stop to make before Money in the Bank arrives but it is still the perfect time to take a look at the potential winners of the briefcase.
Rusev
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Rusev's relevant days in the company will be numbered once he breaks up with Lana. A overused gimmick and not having a mouthpiece is sure to drag Rusev down to jobber status within no time and one thing WWE could do to help him is letting him win the Money in the Bank.
Unlike most of the foreign monsters that WWE has seen in the past, there is a spark of extra talent in Rusev when it comes to his in-ring ability. If he wins it, Rusev will be a threat to any champion and WWE could even turn him face if they are so desperate to get him over.
The only problem with this possibility will be the acceptance of fans. They might not be happy with Rusev winning the briefcase and if that's the case, then there is nothing WWE could do to save his career.
Dean Ambrose
Dean Ambrose winning Money in the Bank is one of those scenarios that the fans would love. He has been exceptionally over with the fans and Dean does have the calibre to be an insane briefcase holder.
Dean winning the contract under the title reign of Seth Rollins makes matters more interesting considering the history that these two have. On the longer run, it would help Dean stamp his place in the main event scene and also it would help him reach the WWE Championship that he thoroughly deserves. The Anti-Hero vs. Authority is another interesting angle WWE could pull off if Dean wins.
Neville
It would be an ultimate underdog story if Neville goes on to win the Money in the Bank. From what they so far, the fans love Neville and from the looks of it, WWE is pretty high on him as well.
Thanks to his high flying ability, Neville is almost sure to find a spot in the ladder match and if he does, he should go on and win it.
Neville getting over the likes of big main event names on a pay-per-view stage would sound perfect and it will also help him enter the title scene. The character direction and storyline aspect that Neville desperately needs will come along with the briefcase making it a 'best for business' move.
Bray Wyatt
Bray Wyatt was wasted in a feud with Ryback at Payback even though the match was of top quality. There was a clear lack of motives and story build up for the feud and it clearly hurt the entire effort that these two put in. The chances of WWE continuing the feud are low and this opens up the door for Bray to be involved in the Money in the bank match.
Despite being one of the most creative gimmicks of PG Era, Bray has been held back due to ridiculous booking decisions. An entry into the Championship scene could completely turn his career upside down. A cult creepy leader carrying around a briefcase might not turn out to be a pretty sight, but maybe WWE could sell him as the weirdest Money in the Bank winner.
Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns won the Royal Rumble, he headlined WrestleMania and we all know what's coming up next don't we? He is the best option that WWE has to win the Money in the Bank briefcase and the result will also add an extra layer to the character of Reigns.
The Samoan Superman is currently having a gimmick extremely similar to that of John Cena, which is also one of the reasons for fans hating him. By letting Reigns win the briefcase and letting him be an opportunist, WWE could show to the fans that Reigns is not a role model like Cena. From a larger picture, Reigns deserves this as well for all the efforts that he is putting in to improve his skill set.
