WWE loves foreshadowing. Be it Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles having a confrontation during the 2017 Money in the Bank match (which foreshadowed their clash at WrestleMania 34), or The Undertaker's bizarre encounter with Shawn Michaels at Royal Rumble 2009, (which foreshadowed their epic clash at Wrestlemania 25), WWE always loves to throw a bone at the WWE Universe.
These hints are more visible during the first month of each calendar year, shaping up things nicely for the upcoming Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. The latest episode of RAW was no different either. WWE throw some valuable hints during this episode. In this article, we will take a look at five possible WrestleMania 35 matches hinted by the latest episode of RAW. None of these is officially reported or confirmed, so take this list with a pinch of salt.
#5 Bobby Lashley vs. Elias vs. Baron Corbin vs. Dean Ambrose - Intercontinental Championship
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The mid-card on RAW is still in chaos. Almost everyone has a feud against more than a single superstar. Elias has a dispute against Baron Corbin, yet has some unfinished business with Bobby Lashley.
Bobby Lashley at the same time is the new Intercontinental Champion and will have plenty of title challenges. Dean Ambrose would be working hard to get his Intercontinental Championship back from The Dominator. While Seth Rollins is also in the IC title feud, he would move on to the main event scene by the time of WrestleMania.
Thus, WWE would do the classic WWE stuff of putting all the wrestlers together in the mid-card and announcing a multi-man championship match. If it is a ladder match, we can expect a couple more participants - Apollo Crews and someone else.
#4 Drew McIntyre vs. John Cena
Of all the matches in this list, this one has the most probability to happen. Drew McIntyre has been interrupting John Cena's promos for the second week in a row. Mcintyre also has been taunting Cena with the 16-time champ's theme music's lyric - Your time is up, My time is now. The Scottish Psychopath has also been taking a shot at the Cenation leader's Hollywood career and part-time schedule.
Since Cena is in his "put-over" phase of his career and McIntyre is the big project of WWE, WWE might pull the trigger on this match.
#3 The Revival vs. "RAW tag team champions" - RAW tag team championship
The Revival is one of the best tag teams in WWE. However, WWE has been booking the duo of Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder rather poorly. Miraculously, WWE has been indirectly admitting they have been wrong about the booking of the former NXT champions several times. Seth Rollins put The Revival over in his promo against Baron Corbin, and the Commentators have also been on a high note.
Thus, it is only fitting that both Dawson and Wilder get a RAW tag team championship shot at WrestleMania 35, to script their well deserved WrestleMania moment, and the win against Lucha House Party on the latest episode of RAW was the first step.
#2 Braun Strowman vs. Brock Lesnar
We have seen this battle a lot of times. But we may have to endure it even further. Without an iota of doubt, Brock Lesnar's recent feuds have been nothing but underwhelming. His clashes against both Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns were abysmal. While the beast incarnate's initial feud against the monster among men for WWE No Mercy 2017 was brilliant, the match fell flat on its head. Neither the build-up nor the match delivered in their subsequent clashes.
Braun Strowman was "robbed" of a title opportunity after he tampered Vince McMahon's limo. Being one of the top babyfaces of RAW, Strowman will look for redemption and may find himself winning the Royal Rumble, thus paving the way for a potential rematch with Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.
However, we predict that this matchup will not be for a title - but instead would be a grudge match.
#1 Finn Balor vs Seth Rollins - Universal Championship
These two guys have crossed their paths several times. However, every single time, they tore the house down. Seth Rollins and Finn Balor have incredible chemistry between them. Moreover, they share a huge history with the Universal title.
The first-ever match for the Universal title was pitted between Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. Balor managed to win that match after calling out his alter ego - Demon Balor. However, he had to relinquish that title due to an injury sustained during the bout.
In the "new era", WWE would be looking to right their wrongs and the first step in the direction is taking the Universal title off Brock Lesnar. In the Universal title match between Brock Lesnar and Finn Balor, we predict Braun Strowman to lend a hand to Balor - causing a title change and a final feud between Lesnar and Strowman. Rollins would eventually win the Rumble to challenge Balor for the Universal Championship.
