2. Making his WrestleMania debut, Austin Theory
This would be a fine use of Edge's iconic status and a great match for Austin Theory.
It's clear that Vince McMahon is high on Theory, given his backstage segments on RAW. It would just be a question of whether or not Theory can deliver the big match performance on the biggest stage there is.
In the end, it's likely that Edge will go over in this match. It would just be important to make Theory have a strong performance and look good in defeat. Otherwise, it defeats the purpose of the match in the first place.
1. Against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania
This would be the best option for Edge at WrestleMania, especially since they recently worked against each other at Madison Square Garden.
As Kevin Owens recently re-signed with WWE, it is time to re-establish him as a serious main event player while toning down the comedy.
The creative team could easily base the story around both being from Canada and Edge inspiring Owens to be a wrestler. And while both performers are excellent on the microphone, there is no doubt they will build to a compelling match.
In this scenario, Owens would have to go over. He has lost enough matches and a strong performance simply isn't good enough.
The goal would be to establish him as the number one contender coming out of WrestleMania, and a victory over Edge would accomplish that goal.
