#2 Tommaso Ciampa

The man obsessed with "Goldie" and the number one contender for her, the NXT Championship, at Takeover: Portland is on a collision course with Adam Cole. The two are having a great rivalry and you have to wonder why they are not facing off at NXT Takeover: Tampa. It would make sense for the crowning of Ciampa to happen during the biggest wrestling weekend of the year, would it not?
Instead, we are getting the match on February 16, almost 2 months before NXT takes over Tampa -- but why? It could be due to the possibility that The Undisputed Era, or at least Adam Cole, isn't long for NXT and could be moving on. If Ciampa wins, he would need a viable challenger for Goldie during WrestleMania weekend.

Debuting Kross and having him challenge for the NXT Championship right out of the gate would be the biggest instant push an NXT Superstar has received since Kevin Owens. He had his first match in December 2014 at Takeover: R-Evolution, and at the end of the night he and set up his title match by attacking then-NXT Champion Sami Zayn. Owens would challenge for, and win, the title two months later at Takeover: Rival. The same scenario could occur in a week's time: Kross could attack Ciampa as Takeover: Portland goes off the air and in 2 months' time, they could build up a what could potentially be a classic rivalry and a classic match.
