5 Potential opponents for Roman Reigns at WWE Crown Jewel ranked from least to most likely

Roman Reigns returned at the season premier of SmackDown.

Roman Reigns returned on the October 13, 2023, edition of WWE SmackDown, which also happened to be the season premiere of the blue brand. Upon returning, The Tribal Chief was acknowledged by John Cena, who claimed not to have earned the right to challenge for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

However, the 16-time world champion revealed someone else had earned that right and out came LA Knight to the arena. Considering he’s the fastest-rising SmackDown Star in history, it’s likely The Tribal Chief will face him at Crown Jewel 2023.

Nevertheless, WWE is unpredictable, just like John Cena said. Fans should be ready for a twist where Titanland books someone else against Roman Reigns for Crown Jewel 2023.

Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.

Here is the list of possible opponents for Roman Reigns for Crown Jewel 2023:

#5. Solo Sikoa betrays The Tribal Chief

It’s never a good decision to eliminate Solo Sikoa from the list, given that he’s the only member of The Bloodline who hasn’t betrayed Reigns yet but can do it.

Currently, The Enforcer has only shown signs of turning on The Tribal Chief. If WWE focuses on crumbling The Bloodline completely before Crown Jewel 2023, Sikoa is the best choice as an opponent for Reigns.

Of course, the buildup to this match will not require too many segments. It’ll only need one segment for a betrayal and another for a challenge.

Considering Crown Jewel is more about entertaining the audience than adding to creative directions, Solo Sikoa’s betrayal right before the PLE seems unlikely.

#4. Jimmy Uso is brought back in line

Jimmy Uso has inserted himself into The Bloodline after being the first member of the stable to betray The Tribal Chief. He Superkicked Roman Reigns at Night of Champions to mark his betrayal, and Jey followed in his footsteps.

However, Jey Uso quit SmackDown, Roman Reigns took a leave for a while, and Jimmy decided to become a part of The Bloodline on a technicality. His justification was that no one asked him to leave or told him he wasn’t a part of the faction. Hence, he must still be a part of it.

Roman Reigns may not be completely delighted about Jimmy Uso’s decisions, especially since the latter has been picking fights with other superstars without Reigns’ orders. To put Jimmy Uso in line, The Tribal Chief can take him on at Crown Jewel 2023.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be a title match, but a match that’ll allow Reigns to showcase his dominance over Jimmy Uso, enabling The Tribal Chief to bring order to his faction again.

#3. AJ Styles makes a challenging return

In Roman Reigns’ absence, AJ Styles has been at the receiving end of Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa’s ambush.

Styles couldn’t be a part of Fastlane 2023 after Sikoa and Uso attacked him backstage.

If The Phenomenal One returns before Crown Jewel 2023, it’s possible he can challenge The Head of the Table instead of challenging at Sikoa or Uso’s level.

Styles taking on Roman Reigns will send a message to The Bloodline that he fears nobody, and an ambush will not stop him from coming after WWE’s most dominating faction.

#2. John Cena finishes the story

Roman Reigns vs. John Cena is a classic. Whether at Crown Jewel or any other PLE or just a weekly SmackDown, fans will bask in its glory.

The WWE Universe is waiting for The Champ to finish the story, and Crown Jewel seems like a great event to do it at.

WWE will not even need to build that story. It writes itself every time The GOAT and The Tribal Chief are in the ring at the same time.

While Cena has claimed he will not challenge Reigns yet, it doesn’t mean he will not change his mind before Crown Jewel.

#1. LA Knight dethrones Roman Reigns

After SmackDown’s season premiere, LA Knight seems like the best pick for Roman Reigns’ opponent for Crown Jewel. Whether or not he dethrones Reigns is secondary; the idea is to showcase a high-profile match for the audience and enable Knight to rise further and hold his place as WWE’s top babyface.

The fans look forward to a showdown between the top babyface and heel. Still, there must be enough buildup to justify the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion accepting Knight’s challenge.
