As we are heading into WWE Backlash Premium Live Event on May 4, the latest episode of Monday Night RAW created new storylines. It remains to be seen if any of these feuds will lead to a match on the company's upcoming PLE.
A new Women's World Champion was crowned, while former Intercontinental Champion Gunther returned after his loss to Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 40 and declared for the King of The Ring Tournament.
Meanwhile, Sheamus confronted his friend Drew McIntyre, who continues his feud with CM Punk, and with that in mind, let's take a look at five potential feuds that could take place at WWE Backlash in two weeks from now.
See who is stunned by Hulk Hogan's words HERE
#5. Giovanni Vinci vs. Ludwig Kaiser
This is probably the end of The Imperium faction after Ludwig Kaiser attacked Giovanni Vinci following their loss to The New Day in a tag team match. It also appears that the assault had the approval of Gunther, so we should assume that Vinci will leave the Imperium afterwards.
Next Monday, Giovanni Vinci is expected to address the incident and target Kaiser, which could lead to a match at Backlash.
#4. Gunther vs. Xavier Woods
Gunther returned to RAW and declared for the King of The Ring Tournament. After that, The New Day interfered and confronted The Ring General and Imperium, with Xavier Woods announcing that he would also participate.
Given the history between The New Day and Imperium and Woods' reign as King of The Ring, fans should expect their feud to intensify next week. It wouldn't be surprising if RAW General Manager Adam Pearce scheduled a match for Backlash.
#3. Piper Niven vs. Nia Jax
It is still unclear whether this could turn into a feud, but Piper Niven and Nia Jax collided during the Women's World Championship Battle Royal, which could be the start of a feud between the two.
Jax remains part of the title picture on RAW, while Niven appears to have no direction when it comes to a singles run. Thus, a match between the two could help Niven get a push from WWE and allow Nia Jax to stay on track after failing to become champion.
#2. Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus
This could see the two friends re-ignite their feud after Sheamus interfered in Drew McIntyre's segment on CM Punk, telling The Scottish Warrior that he had become obsessed with the Best In The World.
McIntyre didn't like what The Celtic Warrior told him but said he was still his friend and supported him. Still, given McIntyre's heel turn, we could expect another confrontation next week, which could lead to a match at Backlash.
#1. Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan at Backlash
Becky Lynch defeated Liv Morgan and stood tall at the Battle Royal to become the new Women's World Champion. She is now set to defend her title at Backlash, and we should expect Morgan to be her first opponent.
Liv Morgan is on a revenge tour and has her sights set on the title. And given the history these two female wrestlers have after the 2024 Royal Rumble onwards, it would be a major surprise if we didn't have a match between Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship at Backlash.
