#2: King of the Ring
The King of the Ring tournament died a slow death during its initial run in the WWE, with the WWE losing more and more interest in the event with each passing year.
The last tournament took place in 2015, with Wade Barrett defeating Neville in a pretty forgettable final to officially become King Barrett.

The problem with the tournament was simple- there felt as though there was nothing on the line. The winner of the match simply got to wear a crown and refer to themselves as 'king' for a few months before everybody got tired of the gimmick.
With the WWE's renewed interest in tournaments, however, a 32 man tournament, with matches taking place on network specials could prove to be huge for the company. A guaranteed title shot at the end of the tournament would provide some genuine stakes and excitement to the mix.
The WWE could even take the opportunity to further their women's revolution by holding the first ever 'Queen of the Ring' event simultaneously.
