WWE ensures the fans get to see a constant supply of the world’s greatest wrestlers. However, not every one of these stars gets the kind of push they need to reach greater heights in their pro wrestling career. This includes superstars like Dijak, who recently didn’t get a contract extension, and Ricochet, who has been written off the show after his contract was re-signed. But, here are five superstars who have neither been released, nor written off, but apparently overlooked by the Stamford-based promotion.
#5 DIY isn't getting the spotlight despite big feud
The DIY has taken part in quite a few tag team matches and competitions, in addition to many title matches. However, those matches did little to count since they neither won the matches nor looked very good while fighting them.
Currently, the duo of Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano is in a feud with WWE Tag Team Champions A-Town Down Under. However, this feud has been focusing more on Austin Theory and Grayson Waller and their dynamic. Thus, the DIY is getting overlooked again despite being part of a championship feud.
#4 Candice LeRae is yet to make a mark in WWE
The addition of Candice LeRae to the women’s locker room gives the WWE roster a lot of depth. However, the Stamford-based promotion hasn’t been using the 38-year-old experienced wrestler to her full capability. LeRae is mostly seen getting small wins via interferences with her tag team partner Indi Hartwell. But, that’s where the good things end for her.
Candice LeRae is being used as a propeller for other superstars as she continues to lose her matches. Moreover, despite being in a feud with Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair, LeRae and Hartweel were superseded by The Unholy Union to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
#3 Kairi Sane still lurks in the background
Kairi Sane is a member of Damage CTRL, which currently is in a dominant position in the women’s locker room. However, while the rest of her crew members have had the chance to hold a championship, Sane has always been on the sidelines. The WWE hasn’t been giving her chances to prove herself either, which included snubbing her from the Queen of the Ring tournament.
While she did get a chance to qualify for the Money in the Bank, again, she was used as a stepping stone for Lyra Valkyria.
#2 Will Andrade make the most of his WWE return?
When fans saw Andrade at WrestleMania XL alongside Rey Mysterio, they expected to see a flamboyant WWE return by the superstar. However, the Stamford-based promotion kind of forgot about him despite his win at 'Mania. It was only after a few weeks that he came to the SmackDown brand.
Andrade is yet to get that big push that matches his stature in the independent circuit. He recently qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match, which may be used by WWE to uplift Andrade’s run.
#1 Dakota Kai fans continue to get disappointed with her booking
Dakota Kai has experienced a big fallout from her former position as the Women’s Tag Team Champion at the beginning of the year. Just like Kairi Sane, she has also not received many good opportunities while IYO SKY of her faction is getting a big push from WWE.
This recently resulted in Kai breaking down in tears while doing a live stream on Twitch. Several fans sent heartwarming messages to Dakota Kai, but her situation hasn’t really changed. Moreover, just like Kairi Sane, she lost her MITB qualifier to Zoey Stark. This resulted in her fans getting disappointed with her booking once again.
It would be interesting to see how WWE manages to give these superstars more opportunities to shine lest they become forgotten or leave the promotion.
