Alexa Bliss challenged then-SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch for the latter's title in a Tables Match at the Tables, Ladders & Chairs PPV back in 2016--a match which would witness Bliss capture her first Women's title in the WWE. The contest lasted for 15:10 and was one in which Bliss displayed a ton of raw talent with regard to story-telling and match-pacing.

Firstly, Lynch deserves a ton of credit for maintaining an insane pace throughout the matchup--The Irish Lass Kicker is a beast, and there's no two ways about it. Getting back to the match, a key factor throughout their battle was that Lynch had multiple close calls where she'd have Bliss set to go through the table, only for the latter to execute a reversal at the last moment and almost put Lynch through the table.

The match featured several brutal moments--for which both women deserve major props--as Bliss hit a DDT on her opponent on a table which was turned upside down; whereas Lynch used a table's leg to assist her while applying the Dis-arm-her on Bliss. The Irish Lass Kicker also sent The Goddess crashing onto the edge of a table that was set up on the second turnbuckle; while Bliss ensured that she sent Lynch crashing off the top rope onto the mat.

The end of this contest was poetic, as it harked back to the theme that was so very prevalent through the match--Lynch almost putting her opponent through the table, while Bliss turns the tables (pun intended) at the very last moment. With a table set up outside the ring and Lynch punching Bliss as they stood on the ring apron outside the ropes, Bliss was almost sent crashing through the table but fortunately simply landed on her feet ringside.

In a moment of pure brilliance, Bliss tripped Lynch and momentarily staggered the latter--which gave The Goddess of WWE the opportunity to get under her opponent and set up a huge power-bomb--sending Lynch crashing through the table and winning the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship for the very first time.
