The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin is arguably the greatest rivalry in the history of the WWE, and this was the final singles bout in their WrestleMania history, a true classic. None of their bouts were classics from a work rate perspective, but the two characters were so enthralling that the WWE Universe couldn't help but get invested in every move they made.
The heel turn at the end of the bout confused the entire world, as Stone Cold turned heel, aligning with his former nemesis Vince McMahon, but it added yet another layer to their rivalry. These two are the biggest stars that WWE has ever seen, and although the bout wasn't a classic, they had us so invested, and the heel turn at the end all culminated in what was a fantastic display of what makes WWE great, turning in another big-time performance from both men.
