There had been persistent rumours throughout the years about a real-life feud between Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss, dating back to their early days in NXT when Sasha apparently broke Alexa's nose.

The off-screen rivalry transitioned on-screen in 2017 when the two women fought over the Raw Women’s Championship, leading to “The Boss” cutting a promo after the Great Balls of Fire PPV which blurred the lines between storyline and reality.

The four-time Raw Women’s champ accused Bliss of making up “fake little stories” about being a childhood wrestling fan and claimed her rival didn’t even know the difference between Matt and Jeff Hardy.

Asked in an out-of-character interview in August 2017 if their rivalry was legitimate in real life, Alexa told German Suplex Talk, “The way I see it, Sasha can think or say whatever she wants. As long as it fuels her fire to have a good match, I’m fine with it.”
