5 Real-life WWE couples who feuded against each other in a storyline

Ever since Rusev and Lana debuted on the main roster, WWE has used them together. Sometimes as a couple or wrestler-manager duo, and sometimes against each other having affairs with other Superstars. In 2015, WWE tried to start a feud between Lana and Dolph Ziggler taking on Rusev and Summer Rae. The storyline was dropped abruptly after the news of Rusev and Lana getting engaged in real-life came out.

In 2019, we saw another case of an on-screen crack in their love life as Lana came out with Bobby Lashley during Rusev's match on RAW and the two kissed on the stage - something no one saw coming. In the weeks and months that followed, the storyline took weird turns with Lashley and Lana engaging in non-PG and cringe segments on RAW.

Arguably, one of the worst storylines in recent memory, WWE included a returning Liv Morgan to it as well as Lana's former lover. Then all of a sudden, the feud was dropped without any proper conclusion. While Rusev has been recently released from the company, Lana and Lashley continue to appear as an on-screen couple - though the tension between them is growing with each passing day.

In real-life though, Lana and Rusev are a happily married couple - one of the major reasons why the above storyline failed so badly as everyone knew there was no truth to it.
