There really isn’t another way to put this – Randy Orton as WWE Champion was boring. His attitude was boring, his matches were boring, and even though it only lasted for about six weeks it still felt like an eternity. He just didn’t bring anything different to the table, and that was extremely disappointing following his great work with The Wyatt Family.

During that storyline, he felt like an entirely new performer with a brand new purpose in the business, but the moment he hit that RKO at the Citrus Bowl, everything changed. He seemed to revert back to the status quo that we’ve seen for so many years now, and we’d bet good money on him doing that because it’s the easy thing to do.
