Ronda Rousey joined the WWE not because she was in need of money- her endorsement and movie roles have provided plenty of that, not to mention royalties on her UFC bouts - but because she legitimately loves pro wrestling.

Rousey has been a life long fan, and was particularly fond of Rowdy Roddy Piper. Ronda Rousey has appeared on very few podcasts, but she went out of her way to be on Piper's, and she even carries the Rowdy One's legendary leather jacket to the ring, not to mention her ring gear emulates his.
That being said, the rumor has been that Ronda will be leaving WWE after WrestleMania. While Ronda has quashed rumors that she is leaving to start a family, it seems as if she will at least take a temporary break from the WWE when her contract is up in April.
With Rousey possibly leaving, the WWE needs a strong female lead for its shows, and Becky Lynch certainly fits that bill.
