A return to WWE would open the door to multiple dream matches for CM Punk. Despite having shared the ring with the likes of Seth Rollins, Edge, and Roman Reigns in the past, there would definitely be no harm if Punk engages in a potential feud with any of the aforementioned names.

With Edge's return to WWE, the company has guaranteed itself a legitimate veteran who is still loved by the WWE Universe and even fans on social media.

Meanwhile, a Superstar like Seth Rollins has evolved quite a lot over the past few years, especially since the dissolution of The Shield. A feud between Punk and Rollins has a lot of potential to it, knowing the fact that Rollins was the architect and the destroyer of The Shield. Whereas, CM Punk was the actual mastermind behind the idea of the group.
Lastly, a feud between Punk and the newer version of Roman Reigns certainly has money written all over it. The Tribal Chief hasn't missed a step since turning heel and has been absolutely top-notch as the Universal Champion and frontrunner for SmackDown.
While these are only a few likely scenarios that could set the stage for CM Punk's return to WWE, there are also a few dream matches out there for 'The Second City Saint'. Showdowns against the likes of AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre are matches that WWE could take into consideration for Punk if he is to return.
