Much like Shawn Michaels and Triple H before him, Edge has had to battle back from horrific, career-changing injuries in the past to reclaim his position as the premier name in WWE.
Edge though is entering uncharted territory. No superstar has ever had to undergo as much rigorous medical testing, multiple surgeries and 9 years on the sidelines before returning to a successful career. So can you imagine the reaction from the WWE Universe if Edge were to overcome all that adversity and win a World Title once again?
WWE is all about storytelling and, if they know storytelling like they should, they'll know that an Edge Title win would drum up interest and views the likes of which haven't been seen in a long time.
No offense to Daniel Bryan, it would be the greatest comeback in wrestling history. Here's hoping WWE gets wise and decides to give Edge one more shot with the belt.
