#4. Heyman can keep Lesnar happy
Brock Lesnar has always been a temperamental talent behind the scenes for Vince McMahon and WWE. He has disagreed with storylines, finishes, and payouts over his long career. It has always been a challenge for McMahon to keep The Beast Incarnate happy. Despite that, Lesnar is a valued and much-needed WWE Superstar irrespective of his part-time status.
One person who has always seemingly had the multi-time world champion’s ear is Paul Heyman. By keeping him in the fold in some capacity, WWE will be in the best position to keep The Beast Incarnate happy.
Lesnar will certainly step away again, and Vince McMahon will assuredly come calling for him. Having Heyman around to sweeten any deal could go a long way in keeping the megastar happy.
Moreover, Heyman’s presence will not only appease Lesnar, but he might also help develop the next storyline for him. If the WrestleMania main-eventer is to remain in the fold, WWE needs to utilize him correctly. Who better to develop Lesnar’s storyline than the man who knows him best?
Heyman and Lesnar have always been the perfect pairing. So it seems too soon to break up this alliance, even if the alliance is only utilized behind the scenes.
#3. Paul Heyman is WWE’s best storyteller
Very few superstars in the history of WWE have captured the imagination of the crowd when they’re on the mic, quite like Paul Heyman. He is able to keep fans captivated while conveying the exact story that he wants to get across. When he is on the mic, you can be assured that the crowds will not be chanting “What?!” or be distracted by a beach ball in the stands.
As a result, WWE has the best storyteller in sports entertainment at their disposal. Heyman can elevate any storyline that the company wishes to use him on. He could get back behind the mic on either RAW or SmackDown or even have his own talk show segment on the main roster to further storylines. While The Miz and Happy Corbin can be entertaining, neither has nearly all the mic skills of Heyman. The on-screen personality doesn’t even have to be any one wrestler’s advocate to help WWE push across the company’s agenda.
Heyman has far too many stories to tell to retire at this point. While The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin may never be walking through that door again, McMahon has the former ECW owner ready to convey WWE’s message to the audience. If all else fails, he can even name Heyman the commissioner of one or both brands.
Thanks to his storytelling abilities, it’s unlikely that WWE will keep him off-screen for long.
