#4 This could lead to a tag match between John Cena and his long-time rival against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins
John Cena has had major issues with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in the past. However, another ghost from Cena's past, Edge, has miraculously returned to WWE in recent years.
Edge is John Cena's greatest rival. Don't let WWE or any other company fool you, he's number one. There's a lot of history between these two. Check out this classic promo The Rated-R Superstar cut on Cena over a decade ago.
That's pure, unadulterated rage. So imagine the kind of promos we'll get when Cena is the one to save him from a two-man beatdown by Rollins and Reigns. Edge has a match with Reigns at Money in the Bank, but Seth Rollins is irate that he's got that opportunity.
Rollins will absolutely cost Edge his opportunity. The latter will need someone to even the odds. Why not Cena? What's that old saying? The enemy of my enemy is...well...they're probably not friends. But they can be allies.
#3 John Cena has yet to win the Universal Championship
John Cena is a 16-time World Champion. We count that as:
- 13 WWE Championships
- 3 World Heavyweight Championships
Not a Universal Title in the bunch. Of all the gold that Cena's accumulated over the years, he's never won the Universal Title. He's also never won the Intercontinental Championship either, but that's not important.
In their only one-on-one match, John Cena lost to Roman Reigns at No Mercy 2017. So not only has he never won the Universal Title, he's never beaten Reigns in the middle of the ring. It kind of writes itself. Cena's looking to break Ric Flair's record by accomplishing two goals he'd never been able to do before. That's money.
